The Spring Woods High School Safari Players will whisk away theater-goers to “Oklahoma!” in the coming weeks as they present the groundbreaking musical that set the stage for all that followed. Rodgers and Hammerstein’s exuberant classic is a lively, tuneful musical full of cowboys, farmers, romance and fearless optimism!
Bring the whole family to Spring Woods High School (2045 Gessner Rd) for a fun-filled night and support our talented Spring Branch (and Spring Shadows!) students. The show runs January 27-February 4, 2023: 1/27—7:30pm, 1/28—2:30pm and 7:30pm, 1/30—7:30pm, 2/3—7:30pm, 2/4—2:30pm, & 7:30pm.
“Oklahoma!” tells the story of a Western territory just after the turn of the 20th century with a high-spirited rivalry between local farmers and cowboys. It provides a colorful background for the story of Laurey, a feisty farm girl, and her courtship by two rival suitors: Curly, a charming cowboy, and the sinister and frightening farmhand Jud. The drama and romance of this love triangle contrasts with the secondary romance featuring the comic exploits of brazen Ado Annie, hapless Will Parker, and slick Ali Hakim in a musical adventure embracing hope, determination and the promise of a new land.
The show features one of musical theater’s greatest scores including, “Oh, What a Beautiful Mornin,” “The Surrey With the Fringe On Top,” “I Cain’t Say No,” “People Will Say We’re In Love” and “Oklahoma.”
The cast and crew of talented students are working tirelessly to provide audience members a great experience, and we want to do everything we can to ensure their hard work is enjoyed by as many in the community as possible! Please come out to support the amazing talent just down the road.

Ticket sales for each night will cut off the afternoon on the day of the show (10am for Saturday matinees) and remaining tickets will then be sold at the door.
